    Product Manager Interview

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Carousell in January 2018.

    Interview

Applied online, received immediate response and the process of setting up the interviews was relatively efficient compared to other companies. Technical requiter was very communicative as they had to change interview times quite a lot, but everyone was very friendly and interesting to talk to during the interviews.
I was asked to do a product challenge and without any feedback at all i received an automated rejection email, which i found quite disrespectful. Always disappointing to read a "dear candidate, sorry..." after over a month of chats, interviews, etc.

    Android Engineer Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    No Offer
    Negative Experience

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Carousell.

    Interview

Submitted my resume through their website and didn't get a response, but got a response through another job board. It took about two weeks for them to respond. I did the interview and they asked some very obscure Android trivia questions, 5 in total, that I had never heard before and I have been doing Android interviews for a long time. Not even an activity lifecycle question. No coding problems. I did not get a response from anyone after the interview.

    Software Engineer(Internship) Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    Declined Offer

    Easy Interview

    Interview

Recruiters and interviewers were friendly, personable, and made me feel at ease. First round was technical but I was only tasked to write simple, working code (no questions on data structures and algorithms, etc). Second round was mostly behavioural with CTO and manager but some questions on my past work and side projects were asked.

    Community Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Singapore (Singapore)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Carousell (Singapore (Singapore)) in May 2015.

    Interview

Prior to this formal application, I did a part-time with them on as-needed basis because they were urgently needing a temporary part-time.

During university summer break, I sent my resume to their official email, and received a reply from the lead community manager. We corresponded via email to arrange for the time for the interview with her at the office. It lasted about an hour, mainly asking about my prior experience, my thoughts about how I can help grow the company, and what I want to get out of the course of the internship.

A few days afterwards, I received another email from one of the founders, inviting me for a chat with him at the office. He would primarily elaborate on the vision and mission of the company, its philosophy, and how they're running it. I was asked a few general questions as well.

The letter of acceptance and contract came a few days afterwards. I started work the day after the chat with the founder, I think.

    Software Engineer Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Taipei (Taiwan)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Carousell (Taipei (Taiwan)) in April 2019.

    Interview

Involved a very rigorous 5 step interview process. First - taking an online coding assessment and submission of CV/cover letter. Then, phone screen with the office manager for personality fit. After that is a 3 hour coding assessment (1.5 hours algorithms, 1.5 hours practical coding). After that is a discussion with the team you'd be placed with about your skills and technical fit for the job. Then finally is a cultural fit chat with the cofounders in Singapore. All stages involved staff members from Taipei and Singapore. The questions were challenging and probing, but ultimately the interviewers were kind. Particularly, corresponding with the office manager throughout the hiring process was very straightforward and honest. She was attentive and available. Though I ended up going with another offer for personal reasons, I learned a lot throughout Carousell's interview process and found it would be a great company to work for.

The interview process is painless and the recruiter was very thorough on explaining on what I will expect throughout the hiring process.

As a Software Engineer, I enjoyed solving the coding exercise and discussed it with the interviewers during the onsite round.

Overall, it was fun and challenging experience.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Carousell (Singapore (Singapore)) in August 2018.

    Interview

    - One recruiter approached me via linked In and we setup an appointment on short notice (as they were in rush)
    - Did 3 hours interview (live coding).
    - All that enthusiasm disappeared (even though I did quite well) and I was left in the dark for more than 3 weeks.
    - Chased them aggressively for another 2 days to get just "No" ... not a nice experience.
