      Analytical Chemist Interview

      Oct 27, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Ceutical Labs in Sep 2025

      Interview

This was the worst interview experience I've ever had. I got a call from Courtland who was the most rude individual I have had the displeasure to meet. His opening question was why I could not keep a job (previous employment was 3 months) and my answers did not suffice. He asked several basic chemistry questions that normally I could have answered but I fumbled them because I was caught off guard by the first question. He told me to call my university and ask for my money back. After further discussion on what upper level chemistry courses I took, he insisted that I had a B.A. of Chemistry and not a B.S. I informed him he was wrong and showed evidence that my degree was a B.S. of Chemistry and he proceeded to tell me that the standards for scientists have dropped. He did mention that the job paid in the top 1% for chemists and the bonuses were based on hitting targets and deadlines. After the conversation I did not care how many zeroes were on the paycheck. It wouldn't be enough to deal with people like him. The call left me feeling terrible but I was called several days later and invited to an in person interview. I immediately declined and asked that my application be removed. When asked why I listed Courtland specifically and how I was spoken to. I have never seen so many red flags in just an interview alone.

      Question 1

Why can't you keep a job? What Senior level courses did you take? Why can't you remember what Senior level courses you took?

      Analytical Chemist Interview

      Nov 8, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Farmers Branch, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Ceutical Labs (Farmers Branch, TX)

      Interview

It was an in person interview. I had read the reviews, and found many (unfortunately, the negative ones) to be true. The big points: -This is a small family owned testing lab, employees seem friendly, everyone appears to be hardworking, by it also appears to be very disorganized. -This was supposed to be a 3 part interview, but the people for the second part went home. -They are politically and religiously conservative, they bring in their deacons to talk counsel their employees. -They want "lifers" (people that will work with them for at least 5-7 years) -They claim to be rapidly growing -They state that starting employees will be paid the minimum possible, and then have a series of bonuses depending on performance. -They stated that they are D.E.A.... Implied that if I failed my drug test (gave them any "surprises") I would be facing a judge. However, I felt that if you do not fit the mold (straight, culturally/religiously [non-Catholic Christian], and politically conservative or Republican), then you may not be comfortable working here. Moreover, given that this is a small family owned (wife is owner, husband is COO) company, I didn't see any path for advancement, especially into the leadership. I do not believe this is a bad place or that the leadership are bad people. I wish them well in their expansions, and I hope they find the correct people who would be happy working with them.

      Question 1

Questions were about goals and timelines, there were no technical questions asked.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Ceutical Labs (Dallas, TX) in Mar 2019

      Interview

The process was easy, they did not have my resume available and they texted me 5 minutes before the interview to bring some resumes. They all seem to be really stress, they make it sound that the hardest thing you can do is to work there. Do not mention that you want to continue studying any time because they will tell you to come back when you finish all your studies.
