It was an in person interview. I had read the reviews, and found many (unfortunately, the negative ones) to be true. The big points:
-This is a small family owned testing lab, employees seem friendly, everyone appears to be hardworking, by it also appears to be very disorganized.
-This was supposed to be a 3 part interview, but the people for the second part went home.
-They are politically and religiously conservative, they bring in their deacons to talk counsel their employees.
-They want "lifers" (people that will work with them for at least 5-7 years)
-They claim to be rapidly growing
-They state that starting employees will be paid the minimum possible, and then have a series of bonuses depending on performance.
-They stated that they are D.E.A.... Implied that if I failed my drug test (gave them any "surprises") I would be facing a judge.
However, I felt that if you do not fit the mold (straight, culturally/religiously [non-Catholic Christian], and politically conservative or Republican), then you may not be comfortable working here. Moreover, given that this is a small family owned (wife is owner, husband is COO) company, I didn't see any path for advancement, especially into the leadership.
I do not believe this is a bad place or that the leadership are bad people. I wish them well in their expansions, and I hope they find the correct people who would be happy working with them.
