      Compliance Analyst Interview

      May 20, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Checkout.com (London, England) in May 2021

      Interview

Very poorly run recruitment process. I had the first video interview with HR. He was basically in a hotel room with poor signal which obviously wasn’t my problem. I got an email from the same HR staff inviting me to the next round interview. He asked be to give my available dates which I did. I never heard back from him after that. (It’s been over 2 weeks). I kept wondering, how could a company decide they want to progress with a candidate and then decide not to because his proposed interview date wasn’t available? How could they possibly assume that my chosen dates weren’t flexible if they never bothered to ask. I came to the conclusion that the first sign of a company you should avoid is one with poor/incompetent HR. So I decided not to bother with them. I’m writing this as a lesson to candidates in the job market to let y’all know that if they don’t act like THEY NEED YOU, it’s not the right place for you.

Hi there, Thank you for your interest in joining us at Checkout.com and for leaving your thoughts for us on your interview experience. Being invited for a second-round interview, only for communication to then stop entirely must have been very frustrating, and for which we apologize. We take pride in creating a positive experience for candidates, but clearly, there is still work to be done to ensure that the same experience is felt by everyone. We have circulated your feedback with the right members of the team and if you have any additional comments please feel free to reach out directly at people.acquisition@checkout.com and we will get back to you. Thanks, The People Team

      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I applied online. I interviewed at Checkout.com

      Interview

The 1st stage interview was a phone interview to understand a little more about the role and what was expected of me, this interview was with talent partner who was very open and professional during this conversation, and it gave me good insight into the role and next steps. The 2nd interview was with 2 members of the compliance team, it was an hour long and provided further insight into the role, why it was open etc. Both situational and technical questions were asked during this stage, and was also a good opportunity to further explain my experience and how it lends to the open role. There were a few curveball questions here but nothing too out of the ordinary. Towards the end of the interview it became more of a casual chat, it was a good place in the interview to learn more about each other outside of work and the culture of the company. Unfortunately, the 2nd interview was 10 days ago and nothing had been heard since from the talent partner regarding the rest of the process and where I fit in it, this is quite surprising given everything up until this point has been professional and prompt. I would hope anyone who interviewed for this role or similar roles would have been informed on their place in the process to a more professional and adequate time. It was a great interview process up until getting ghosted at the final hurdle, which is why I notched it down to neutral from positive.
