      Marketing Interview

      Oct 17, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Church Pension Group (New York, NY)

      Interview

The interview process with CPG was a mixed experience that, unfortunately, leaned more negative in the end. It began with a Zoom interview with both the recruiter and the hiring manager. They were pleasant and easy to communicate with, and this initial interaction gave me a positive first impression. Two weeks later, I had another Zoom interview with four additional team members. While the panel size felt a bit excessive, the conversation went smoothly, and I got a generally positive vibe from them. After about a month of no updates, I reached out to inquire about the status of my application. Eventually, I was invited to a final in-person interview at their Manhattan office with two executives. The atmosphere was professional but personable, and I left feeling that everything had gone well. However, things took a disappointing turn afterward. A week later, I received an automated rejection email. After multiple rounds of interviews and regular communication with their HR team, I found the automated response impersonal and disheartening. It would have been more respectful to receive a personal email or even a phone call, given the time and effort invested in the process. This final step revealed more about the company's culture than the interviews did. It left me feeling undervalued as a candidate, which was unfortunate, as I had hoped CPG would offer a more human touch in their hiring process.
