I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Classical Charter Schools (Bronx, NY) in Jul 2016
Interview
1) Basic Phone Interview
This was largely a description of the school, its mission, and the possible career opportunity. Questions pertained to certification, experience, and coming up with a time when I had been given a critique and what I did with the information.
2) Demo Lesson (with script provided by the school)
This lesson was basically a read-aloud. Very straight forward. Turn-and-Talk. Make sure to set goals for Scholars at the beginning of the lesson.
3) In-person Interview after Demo Lesson
This was nice because the questions asked were mostly practical. It also included a lot of feedback about the demo lesson which is helpful.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
During the In-Person Interview, I was given a series of data pertaining to past exams and asked to extrapolate meaning in order to determine what steps would be taken next.
A lot of questions also pertained to what my previous position could change and why I wanted to teach at Classical.

I applied for the teaching position at classical. The following week I had gotten an email requesting an interview with classical charter school. The talent manager contacted via phone interview. It went well, i was asked several questions about classroom management and why I had chosen to work for classical. The interviewer was pleasant and professional, within the next two days I had received an second interview. Teaching demo which went very well.

Question 1
Why did you want to teach at Classical Charter school?
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Classical Charter Schools (New York, NY) in Dec 2022
Interview
I was emailed for an interview, and I scheduled the time and date on the website of Indeed. I was excited about the interview, but after the interviewer logged in via indeed to start the interview, it was based on pre-structured questions by HR. The interviewer was not friendly at all for recruiting for that position. She was dry, and the interview was only 30 mins. I never heard back from the company. After the interview, I researched the school further and read a lot of comments from individuals complaining about the school's leadership and management. I guess I lucked out!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They were all pre-structured, so they were boring questions, and the interviewer made them even more boring.
Very easy process. However, it is all a facade. You interview with the director. You do not get to meet any of the teachers at the school. If you do run into a teacher they look miserable.
