      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Coloplast (Long Island City, NY)

      Interview

Absolutely ridiculous. Hiring manager had me go on 7 interviews! 5 of which were out of state including a ride day in Pennsylvania 3 hours from my house in which the rep took me out to lunch only! Not much of a ride day. They also have you put together this business plan and expect you to understand the product like without any formal training! Guess what, if you don't get the job they keep the plan!!! How convenient to work for free!!

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Coloplast

      Interview

Lengthy 4 wk process. Working thru recruiter. Had Repetitive phone conversations with Regional sales manager who was so apprehensive on steps in hiring process. He was totally afraid of making the wrong decision and constantly had recruiter contact me to ask additional questions. I had to do a computer exam which was personality questions and than a math/English SAT section which took several hours. Scheduled to go on two ride alongs. First one was out of state and spent 3 hrs driving to an account to listen to a conversation among friends - not about the product or job. Second scheduled ride along was sitting in a lobby having coffee while this person talked all about himself and did not even acknowledge my presence. Than had to meet with another rep in territory of different division who needed to give the RSM approval. After this process I had to fly to corp in a one day trip to be interviewed with 3 upper mgt personnel. I was instructed to have long brag box for each of them. Not one of them even cared to look at it. The last interview was with a young, egotistical man who thought asking obnoxious questions such as "how many windows are in the city of Minn" Or " how many golf balls can fit in a school bus" gave him power. REALLY! Needless to say there is no known ans, but just seeking how your thought process is to come up with a conclusion. And after this step he preceded to say that the base comp was 10k lower than I was informed from all others. I immediately said he was wrong in his figure or I would not have wasted my time. Than he told me he would have have an answer for me the following week. Are us kidding. Talk about head games. As I arrived in the airport for my flight back, the RSM contacted me to offer me the position. This was a true wake of call as to the type of organization this was...

      Question 1

What state would you annex and why? This is a totally subjective question, so don't be fearful of giving a response that you feel is right. The other 2 questions from same person - how many golf balls fit in a school bus? How many windows are in the city of Minn, MN? Again these questions were seeking how your thought process is. Such as you need to know height, width, and depth of bus and size of gold ball, etc..
