I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Contxtful (Montreal, QC) in Apr 2022
Interview
I had a first phone screen with the recruiter. Then I met some members of the team for the interview. They were directly interested by my profile. I then met the principal data scientist and the CTO. And two days later, they were making an offer.
The team was very accessible and nice. The process was very smooth and straightforward. Even if I declined the offer, I really enjoyed meeting everyone in that team.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were different questions about my background, my knowledge of C++ and data engineering in general. But more importantly there were a lot of behavioral questions.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Contxtful (Montreal, QC) in Jan 2020
Interview
This has to be one of my top 3 least professional interview processes throughout my career!
The screening was standard and then an on-site interview with the CTO, he's very nice and seems knowledgeable, except he kept bragging about how he let the previous team lead go... I didn't read much into it.
A while later, I received an invitation to go for a closing interview, this is when things got very unprofessional, I wrote back mentioning my availability and I was ghosted for about a week when I sent a follow-up asking if they still wanna move ahead with the process, 3 seconds later I received a confirmation that they do, I suggested a few dates again and again been ghosted... Another follow up email and they sent me a screenshot (yes, a screenshot) of the available times, it was so blurred out that I literally could not read a single thing...
At this point, I decided not to move forward...
