Applied online and got a phone interview with the hiring manager. He parroted a few questions from the job listing and asked about my experience. Phone call lasted about 7 minutes and the guy sounded like he didn't really know anything about what the job entails and how candidates would tie into it with the skills and experience needed. The final questions was about my salary expectations, as they never posted a range on the job req, so I gave him the market range for what the position pays. He tells me the next steps in which they're going to start calling in candidates for in-person interviews and that he'll be in touch. I was ghosted and never heard back, not even a rejection email. Probably looking for a sucker who'll do this high-stress job for next to nothing and they saw I wasn't going to take the bait. Post the salary budget and stop wasting people's time if you're going to be cheap.
