I was led to believe I was having an initial chat with HR, but they were only interested to check whether I needed sponsorship (at the time I was applying for jobs only with companies with existing sponsor licenses and they had one). When they realized I needed sponsorship, the call was quickly truncated. They didn’t confirm one way or another regarding whether I’d be able to proceed and failed to respond to any follow ups. It would’ve been great if they’d clearly indicated sponsorship was not an option for this role and moreover, if they’d had the respect to even simply respond to emails.
