I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cypress Semiconductor (Bengaluru) in May 2011
Interview
about 8 rounds of interview in all. they start off with 1 or 2 phone interviews , you clear the phone rounds - you get called into their office. There you will have another 4 to 6 rounds of interviews. This typically takes up at least half a day.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why you studied certain courses, how do u see applying those here, talk about specific challenging work situations at your former jobs, etc. It really depends on the interviewers. But it helps going through their product portfolio before interviewing with them.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Cypress Semiconductor (Lynnwood, WA)
Interview
Submitted resume via friend who was a Cypress employee with his recommendation. Phone interview with hiring manager. All day onsite interview. Each interviewer had a page assigned by Cypress to fill up a "hiring" notebook for the CEO TJ Rodgers to personally sign off on, so they took it pretty seriously, etc.

Question 1
One of the hour long interview was called the tiger team interview engineers. They asked rapidly paced questions to learn your depth and shake you up. Since they were reluctant to ask a marketing guy too many technical questions, I probably got off easier than usual.
