Interview
My specific division functions as a virtual company with telecommuters that are dispersed across the country. Perhaps for that reason, all of my interviews were by telephone. I spoke with 5 people. None of the interviews were highly structured. They all just tried to engage me in an intelligent conversation about their business.

Question 1
No one was excited to speak with me, and they were all pressed for time. I realized that they wouldn't remember a polite conversation with me over the telephone unless I took a risk. So I introduced new topics and volunteered personal opinions. That piqued their interest. I would not be working for them today if I had not become proactive.
