Thank you for sharing your experience with our application process. We appreciate the time and effort you put into completing the take-home assignment and providing your feedback. We wish you all the best in your career endeavors!
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Databento in Oct 2023
Interview
As two previous people have mentioned, the interview process for sales related roles isn't real, they are using it as a means to generate leads based off of your case study.
The CEO is a narcissist who spends more time posting about herself on linkedin than actually running the company. If she spent more time prospecting and finding people to actually pay for DataBento's data, then she wouldn't have to rip off people's work for lead generation.

Question 1
Have you dealt with licensing paperwork processes? If so, how did you figure out how to streamline them? We are having issues with it right now.
Thank you for your valid feedback. We understand the frustration caused by our interview process, and I'm sorry for your negative experience with the take-home assignment. We've since revised our process to eliminate any possibility of misuse or misinterpretation that assignments are used to generate leads, and we will begin with a direct interview instead of a take-home assignment. Our process is far from perfect, so your feedback helps a ton. Thanks again!
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Databento (Boston, MA) in Dec 2023

BE AWARE!
DataBento is a startup that sources leads and sales information from prospective candidates with no intention of moving them forward.
DataBento is essentially getting free work out of most candidates and not providing feedback on how you did to improve.
Really deceitful and I wouldn't trust this company.
I have pasted the entire take-home assignment below that is supposed to take 30 - 60 minutes, when in reality it takes 5 or 6 hours.
