The interview consisted of 3 parts: a technical quiz, live coding interview, and take home coding challenge. I went through v3 Talent Partners (Marcus Gonchar). They were extremely slow to respond. It took almost 2 months from beginning to end.
The take home coding challenge was to create a Rest API with basic search. I found this a bit odd, as most take home challenges are much, much less involved than that. I decided to go a little above and beyond though, and really incorporate a lot of features that would be necessary for a real world app, such as implementing user authorization and JWT, encryption, validations, and error handling. None of these things were required, but I wanted to demonstrate my experience, and show that I was serious about the interview.
A few weeks later, I received an email that I "did not receive a passing score". This was very confusing to me, because I provided everything they wanted and more. I'm not new to the technical interview process, and have been a professional developer for 15 years, and I've hired dozens of developers myself. They said that I could go over the results with them if I wanted. I asked to go over the results and why I didn't pass, and I got ghosted.
Really wish that they would have respected my time and gave me an explanation when I asked for one (and they said they would give me an explanation). Just feels a bit insulting.
