They called me after we emailed a bit. I think Drexel is a nice place and I have heard others work there who like it. Definitely worth a look if you want to be in higher ed.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA) in Mar 2021
Interview
The interview process was straightforward and the HR reps were kind. After an initial screening call I received a brief follow-up interview call with another HR representative. I did not advance after that point.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most of the questions I received were not about the actual job, the department, or even my experience. This was surprising since the first two calls were basically screening interviews. There were (what felt like trick) questions like "define diversity without using the word 'different'" which felt like there was an implied right/wrong answer. This made the early interview process feel more like playing taboo rather than a mutual conversation about determining if there's enough fit between the candidate and the position in order to move forward.
Other questions tested my knowledge on the priorities of the broader units that the office I applied to was located in. Although I did my research, I could only glean superficial information about the university's larger development goals for example. Ultimately, I was a bit surprised that none of the questions were about the actual work, skills required, or my experience or approach to the work.

Interview
You will really only need to answer the basic interview questions you can find online or gpt. Most teams do two to three rounds of interviews with panelists of various team members you will collaborate with in your role.
