Disorganized and Unprofessional Hiring Process
I applied for a Frontend Developer position at ECI Software Solutions and went through an extremely frustrating and poorly managed interview process.
Initial HR Interaction
I was contacted by David from HR, and we scheduled an interview. Even though I was in the middle of changing countries that day, I kept my commitment. However, David mentioned he was sick, which I completely understood. In the following stages, he stated at least three or four more times that he was sick and couldn’t respond, which honestly started to feel unbelievable.
Technical Interview Delays
After the HR interview, I was told they would schedule a technical interview within a few days. We made the technical interview. However, three weeks later, I received a message that made it seem like we had never spoken before. After I pointed this out, they corrected the message and asked if I would consider a slightly different role in another team.
This conversation was highly unstructured and full of delays.
On-Site Interview Without Clear Vacancy Details
They invited me for an on-site interview but never shared the new vacancy details, despite my multiple requests.
The in-person interview went well, and they assured me I would receive a response within two days. However, the decision was postponed again.
Final Technical Interview & Lack of Response
Eventually, they scheduled another technical interview, after which I never received any update on the outcome—whether positive or negative.
After multiple follow-ups, I finally learned that my application was rejected.
Complete Lack of Feedback
Despite attending four interviews, I was never given any constructive feedback.
I received multiple emails promising calls for feedback (e.g., "I will call tomorrow," "I will call in the evening"), but none of these ever happened. No written or verbal feedback was provided.
Final Thoughts
This was one of the worst-managed hiring processes I have ever experienced. A company that takes up so much of a candidate’s time should at least be able to provide basic professional courtesy in the form of a proper response and feedback. I strongly advise candidates to think twice before investing their time in ECI Software Solutions.
