I had an incredibly unprofessional experience with Ember (the accounting software company). I went through multiple rounds of interviews, culminating in a presentation that required substantial preparation. After investing significant time and effort into their process, I was completely ghosted. No follow-up, no feedback, not even an automated rejection email. And nothing still even after I sent a chaser.
This level of disrespect for candidates' time and effort is unacceptable. It reflects poorly on their values and raises serious questions about how they view people.
For anyone thinking of applying, be warned, you may be wasting your time. I wish I had paid heed to the other reviews which also state they were ghosted at final stages. A company that cannot extend basic professional courtesy is not worth your consideration.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Ember Digital (London, England) in Nov 2021
Interview
The interview process itself was smooth, it required a task/presentation but they never got back to tell me whether I was hired. After two weeks I assumed I was rejected but it would’ve been nice to hear it from them.

Question 1
What content would I base their social media strategy on?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ember Digital in Jun 2022
Interview
The most pleasant, smooth and quick application process of my life. The Talent Lead was extremely helpful, sent very detailed communications about each stage of the process, and extended an invitation to the next stage within 2 hours of each interview. I was able to complete all stages and get an offer within a week! All the interviewers were very friendly and interesting people, making interviews feel more like genuine conversations. Stage 1: Intro with the Talent Lead. A few general questions about previous experience, why Ember, etc. and the rest an introduction to the company and the next stages of the process. Stage 2: Interview with Head of Data. Before the interview I was sent a few datasets and was told the interviewer would ask me to run a few SQL queries on the data during the interview. Besides SQL questions, the rest were questions about previous experience, completed data projects and some specific questions about experience with platforms/tools used at Ember (which I didn't have, but was able to discuss relevant knowledge). Stage 3: 30 min interview with Head of Product and Head of Engineering followed by a 30 min interview with the 2 Co-Founders. The first part was more of a discussion about the Product vision, current projects and how Data can empower the Product team. The second part was focused on cultural fit, my previous work experience and what learning I could bring from it into my new role (I was coming from a completely different role and industry, as well as from a larger corporate environment).
