The interview in spring 2023 began with me giving a technical talk to the members of Encodia staff, then having small one-on-two meetings with members of staff. The younger staff were interesting and fun to chat with. The folks running the show, though, seemed very desperate to get an answer to a specific niche problem that I just wasn't able to give without getting more information, which they would not provide to me. It was a bunch of very strange interactions that sent alarm bells off in my head. It felt like they were trying to get me to give them free advice and solve their problems in the interview. Their explanation of their technology was very high-level and opaque, and they would give no details beyond what you could see on their website, even though I asked. Getting the form rejection letter afterward was an initial disappointment, but after reading the recent reviews, it has turned out to be a blessing.
