Reume was send from career representative from the school I recently graduated from. I received a telephone interview; to give a brief account of my qualificatiions and skills. I was scheduled for an interview with the supervisor in the Medical Records department. I dressed accordingly; in a black pants suit and my porfolio. I was given a description of the office duties, introduced to the staff and asked if I had any questions. I asked several questions pertaining to the position. My resume was reviewed and that was the end of the interview. I was told I would be contacted in two weeks. When I did not get a response in the two weeks, I called to inquire about my status. I was told I was overqualified and that they were looking for someone long term. I was puzzled, because I was never asked over the phone or in person interview about my long term goals. I stated I was just getting back into the work world because I had been unemployed for two years and I had just completed another course to upgrade my education. I stated I did not have a problem with starting off as entry level. The office staff that I was introduced to seemed standoffish. (they were not comfortable with a newcomer). That made me feel a little uncomfortable but not unfocused on my purpose for being there.
