I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ethos Life in Feb 2023
I was scheduled for a call- and rescheduled once- but never received a calendar invite each time. Then a day before our rescheduled time I received an email saying it was cancelled as they already chose a candidate. Felt like I was being led on to believe they were going to give a fair chance but seeing not one BIPOC on the HR team Im not surprised I wasnt given an interview.
- I wouldnt know - they rescheduled, never sent an invite and then cancelled a day before. Not what I expected from a company that provides insurance to all walks of life but they dont reflect that on their team.

Four total rounds, two phone calls, one zoom interview, and one zoom panel interview. The final interview gives you a good feel for the team. They ask you to complete a take home assessment as well
- What is your working style?

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Ethos Life (Portsmouth, VA) in Sep 2022
I went through 2 sections of questions on zoom and then was told that they were going to pay for everything and emailed me a check. Honestly it sounded like a scam so I didn't do through with it. I would've loved actually working for this company
- military experience, gender, present job if working, why you want to work here and what you could bring to the table

Very streamlined process. They share a pdf outlining the whole process right at the outset. There were 6 rounds. 1st round - Hiring manager. Mostly conversational. Understanding your goals and judging fit with the role. 2nd round - SQL Coderpad. Work through a few tables to answer the given questions. 3-6 rounds - 2 behavioral rounds testing for stakeholder management, motivations, how you work under pressure etc. 2 rounds based on case studies. Did about 4 case studies over these 2 rounds. One case study was Ethos-based while the others weren't.
- What are 3 things you're good at and 3 things you're bad at?

I interviewed at Ethos Life
I talked to 3-4 people within the Ethos organization throughout the interview process. The interview process started with an initial phone screen, then went on to conversational interviews. The team was really welcoming.
- Why do you want to work at Ethos?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Ethos Life
I was skeptical to interview here because they’ve been opened since 2016 and only have 25 employee reviews you can read online at this time which was just strange to me. I accepted the interview due to the “high growth” they were experiencing. Process was an initial phone screen which was the best part. The recruiter was great and upbeat. The second interview with the manager was okay and very typical. The final interview was just awkward and so repetitive. Four panelists and besides the second one these were the most disengaged and unenthusiastic people ever. I heard nothing about the CEO, the history of how they came to be the bare minimum on the mission, culture or even salary for the role the entire process. They just asked the same questions over and over again and it began to feel like such a waste of time. The last one even called me by the wrong name when it’s right there on the zoom screen. They told me they’d get back to me early the next week but when it was over I knew I didn’t want to work there. By the time they actually did get back to me I forgot I even interviewed with them (interviewed with a lot of companies) and had already accepted an offer anyway so it worked out well. The entire experience was unmemorable to say the least and did not make you excited about the company or job.
- The same “what can you do for us” questions over and over again

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Ethos Life (Youngstown, OH) in Feb 2022
There were three interviews. First was a phone interview, then the other two were via Zoom. Everyone was on time, prepared and friendly. The questions were standard interview questions. Always try to use the STAR format when you reply.
- Signed NDA so I don't think I should share, but you can prepare by looking up STAR interview format.

Signed NDA sorry everyone! All I can say is that it was THE BEST interview experience I’ve ever had, at any company. The fact that they’re a start up makes me even more in awe of their organization, punctuality and precise questioning of candidates. So impressed. Didn’t get an offer (sadly) but this team is seriously on fire. They want the best of the best because they’re truly a game changing company of the highest caliber. If you got interviewed, consider yourself lucky! All these complaining people in the comments who didn’t get offers, and who are crying about the interview process are losers who fail to self reflect. Want to be with the best? Do better. I took this experience and realized I need to refine my recruitment skills, and spend a little more time ripening on the tree at my present company before I jump in with this team and their current level of talent. I’m trying again in 2023 Ethos! Keep being amazing! If you’re interviewing with this company ignore the haters on Glassdoor. If you get an offer, take it. Good luck to anyone applying! Nothing but great things to say on my end!

I applied through an online job board and received an interview invitation a week and a half later. I did not make it past the initial 30-minute phone screen with HR but there would have been two more rounds, a virtual technical round, and another behavioral round.
- Can you tell me a little bit more about your background? What drew you to apply to Ethos Life?

Anonymous Employee in Bangalore
I applied online. I interviewed at Ethos Life (Bangalore) in Dec 2021
Recently I gave an interview for the position of IT Engineer with Ethos life and I was selected and would like to share my experience. HR : HR team was very professional and approachable. Interviews were conducted online as scheduled. The team explained about the benefits they offer to the employees. VP: IT Vice President conducted one of the rounds, he was very down to earth and gave a brief about my career growth in the organization, moreover, patiently gave ear to whatever I had and to say and answered all my questions. He also set expectations on maintaining a good work-life balance which was impressive. IT Manager and Team: They were very professional cool and walked me through the process followed by them briefly. They educated me about my roles and responsibilities and their expectations from me. They also explained my career path and the growth opportunities within the organization which was very realistic.
- Tell me about your current job.
