      Senior Scientist Interview

      Nov 8, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Pointe-Claire, QC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at FPInnovations (Pointe-Claire, QC) in Oct 2023

      Interview

Screen call. Interview at place. They seems nice people. Recruiter seems clear in what they was asked from the hiring manager. However, the hiring manager does not seems to have a clue about coatings. So, just poor pointles questions are done in that subject. I have the impression that this people is going to pass a hard time finding someone because they won't be able to identify a good candidate, that probably will lead them to a long hiring process. They make several rounds, which is huge waste of time for a candidate, specially when you don't know what you need. They also seems desperately chasing money from their partners. So, longer the hiring process for this position higher will be the pressure on the candidate selected to bring "solutions".

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What is important to consider during coatings formulation? Whoever has worked in coating formulation knows that basically just one root property cover 80% of the issues faced in this subject. This people doesn't know what that is, so they are looking for people just saying: paper.
