TERRIBLE Interview Experience: MISALIGNED QUESTIONS.
Round 1:
The initial round involves an assignment to be submitted within 3 days. However, the response time from the company can take up to 2-3 weeks, even with follow-up emails.
Round 2:
This round is a standard HR discussion covering experience, skill set, current and expected compensation, and other details. The HR confirmed my location and ensured my compensation expectations aligned with their budget. There was some ambiguity about the level for which I was being considered.
Round 3:
A technical discussion with a VP or senior management follows. This round involved a conversation about my resume and the assignment. The VP discussed the company’s engineering culture and products but didn't focus on specific skills. The discussion was more about being versatile and having a basic understanding of various aspects of the software development lifecycle.
Round 4:
Another technical round focused on coding. The questions did not cover core competencies or key skill sets relevant to the role, such as Selenium, UI testing, test cases, and API testing. Instead, the focus was on areas like DevOps and performance testing, which seemed unrelated to the position I applied for. This created some confusion about the role’s requirements.
Post-interview:
There was a delay in communication post-interview, with a response received after 3-4 business days. Eventually, I was informed that I didn't meet the required skill set for the role. The feedback indicated a mismatch between the interview questions and the role's requirements.
Overall, the interview process seemed misaligned with the role I applied for, leading to a time-consuming experience.
