Poor communication overall and felt like they strung you along. Get your hopes up, and are very positive through out the whole process to then just ghost you at the end. Not professional. Do better. Everyone I met was very kind, and though when you spend an entire week on a case study (unpaid) and then go silent, remember there are humans on the other side. Treat people with kindness through the whole process please.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Be prepared to know everything about what they do, and read all their published papers... its expected. The case study was a ton of busy work, and you can still ace the case study, and not get an offer.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Fervo Energy (Houston, TX)
Interview
I had applied previously, was very interested in the company. New posting came up and they reached out to me. Phone call with HR went fine. Everyone seemed excited and a checked evey box. Virtual interview with hiring manager, went great it seemed and told me they would be at a offsite the following week but would get back to me the week following. Multiple emails following with "yes, we'll get back to you next week". Never heard, emailed hiring manager, no response. To this day, I have not heard anything and was just ghosted. I was also told this happened to other colleagues of mine, one after 3 rounds and a panel case study presentation. After this experience I would never consider working for such an unprofessional company.
The first round will be conducted as a video interview with five questions. Before answering each question, you will have 1 minute to prepare your response, followed by 1.5 minutes to record your answer.
