      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Flatiron Health

      Interview

Applied online, got contacted by a recruiter a week later. Set up an initial phone call, everything seemed like a perfect fit. Next steps were to conduct a technical phone screen with someone on the team. About a week later, had a phone screen which was mostly technical and involved a coding exercise. The interviewer loved my solution, I explained not only why it worked, but why this approach was the best approach, including time/space efficiency explanations of all algorithms. The interviewer seemed emphatic . Needless to say, the interview went really well. This is where things got strange. I didn't hear back in almost two days since the phone screen, so I sent a gentle reminder to one of the coordinators regarding feedback. No response. Now about a week later I sent another email, asking for some feedback because another company had already made an offer. Silence. Finally, I sent a last follow up email, and CC'd the original recruiter. He replied back with a brief email saying we aren't going to move forward, but thanks for interviewing. I asked for a bit more than a one-liner, since everything in the interview process so far was extremely positive. He never got back to me. Needless to say, the Recruiting organization here is still in its infancy, very immature when it comes to professionalism. Seems like the startup is really un-coordinated, since teams didn't know who was saying what when. Even in his initial email, the recruiter couldn't attach a basic calendar invite properly... Probably not a company I'd want to work for. Noble mission, but looks like they're struggling with some basic technology. Probably a smart thing to solve basic HR tooling issues first before trying to build "oncology technology" lol. Also looks like current employees are complaining about huge internal conflict and politics here on Glassdoor. Yikes.
