I applied online. I interviewed at Forensic Science (Dublin, Dublin)

Interview

The process was quite long, with two stages: an aptitude test and a panel interview. I placed fourth on the panel and was contacted about three months later. The longest part was the Garda/police vetting, which took around nine months. Overall, it was nearly a year between applying and actually starting in the lab.

Question 1

The interview included technical questions related to laboratory equipment and analytical techniques relevant to the role. There was also a behavioural question using the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) format, where I was asked to describe a time I had to deal with conflict in the workplace and how I resolved it.

Questions on technical processes like HPLC and others commonly used in forensic science. Quite a long winded process involving aptitude tests. Background check can take some time. No info on section which you are to be placed in before starting.
