Part 1:
I applied to the position through Glassdoor and HR immediately reaches out that same day. I thought wow! This was great! I appreciate the quick reply. However it was the most unprofessional response. She writes “Are you in NYC” ? I then question is this how you really communicate when seeking new hires and does this represent how other divisions communicate ?? So giving the benefit of the doubt , I proceeded with setting up the interview and schedule to meet later in the week. Unfortunately a day prior to the interview I had to reschedule due to my son health screening, so I wrote giving HR plenty of time to re-coordinate a time best for them. I then never received a reply back. So I then called to touch base just in case HR missed my email and wasn’t waiting for me. Reception answer and told me she’s not in the office today. I thought that was the strangest thing because any professional would then set an out of office email.
So speaking with reception , I told her to leave a message for me and for HR to call me back to re-schedule . I never received a call. So the following week I recalled and again was not in the office. With no reply and no call back .. I realized this is not a company I care to even interview with . With a lack of communication / tone/ and even clarity is a reflection of the company and have no interest in being apart of. If HR handles on-boarding new hires and candidates with this communication then this must mean upper management passes the same negligence through the company .. enough for HR to think is ok to seek employees by first asking “Are you In NYC” . So in a way.. thank you saving me from joining a toxic work culture and company.
Part 2 : The story gets better...
So a weeks later after I labeled this company as no good - The same HR contacts me if I’m still interested in opportunities with this company.
You have got to be kidding me!!
