Very lengthy process, as is the case with all of these agencies in DC. All grant-funded agencies are reliant on DC's political cycles, so brace for that.
The work sems incredibly interesting and the people in the organization are very committed and professional, but the hiring culture is frustrating and lengthy.

They ask very specific questions about the region/subject you would be working with. Be prepared for those kinds of thematic questions: read the news, read country profiles, etc.
