Interviews for Top Jobs at Gen

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Gen
I was given a technical coding assessment which consisted of three questions. Afterwards, I had an interview with two people simultaneously where I was asked both behavioral and technical skills.
- It was a question dealing manipulating a string

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Prague
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Gen (Prague)
Meeting with 2 associates - product manager and tech lead. The meeting was OK, but then when discussed salary, managers showed skepticism and laughed about my current earnings as freelancer
- - show me your recent work - what were your challanges and how did you overcomed it?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Tempe, AZ
I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Gen (Tempe, AZ) in Dec 2022
Incredibly unprofessional. After they took almost six months in interviews (5 interviews) to screen me for an entry-level position, they did not even have the decency to have a human being tell me 'no'. They sent me an automated email, late at night on a Saturday nontheless, to let me know they are not moving forward with me. They additionally sent me messages intended for other people during the interview process and sent a rejection for a position I didn't even apply for. This company is a mess and I am of the opinion that it was for the best that they didn't make me an offer. Act like you have been there before. There is no entry-level job that requires that many interviews. Either make someone an offer or don't, but don't waste half a year of their time. If the answer is no that is completely understandable but show candidates some dignity.
- Incredibly basic questions. Just basic details about my background.

Anonymous Employee in Tempe, AZ
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gen (Tempe, AZ) in Feb 2022
Started with a Coding OA with easy to medium questions followed by 2 sets of interviews and 1 phone call with the manager. It was smooth and well communicated before, so at each and every point in the interview, I knew what to expect from the upcoming interview.
- Interview1: 1. Remove duplicate contiguous characters from string except 1. So if string is "aaaabbbcbcccb" your output should be "abcbcb". 2. Design URL shorter service Interview 2: Questions on resume and previous work exp which led to questions about various choices made in the development
