The interview felt more like an interrogation than a conversation. The design manager conducting it was highly technical and intense, with little effort made to create a welcoming or reassuring atmosphere. While I believe they were trying to assess skills thoroughly, the experience was stressful, I’m afraid, intentionally. The questions were solely technical and came in very rapid succession, focused on specific parts of the design process, and often seemed aimed at catching you off guard rather than fostering a thoughtful discussion.
When my responses didn’t meet expectations, it was made visibly and verbally clear, which only added to the pressure. Overall, the tone and structure of the interview gave me serious concerns about the team culture and the general approach to collaboration at the company.
