Call with recruiter - Call with Head of Engineering - Take home test (multistep form) - Live coding to discuss take home test + further tweaks - Values interview (around 4 weeks altogether)
Rejected as didn't come across as enthusiastic enough about the company and the role and didn't demonstrate seniority level of leading projects. React knowledge seemed outdated which was a head-scratcher as I used the latest Nextjs package and documentation for the take-home test (since that's what they use) and not sure why there is an assumption that people are not able to pick up new skills if provided the project specific coding standards. Ultimately it felt they found someone who came across as a better fit than myself which happens in a candidate-heavy market.
Suggestion for other candidates: do more research about the company and what they do as it seems that's just as important as skills. Good luck!
