I applied online. I interviewed at Hibu (Saint Louis, MO) in Sep 2024
Interview
Interview process was conversational. Straight forward in terms of position details. Lasted roughly 5 minutes. Interviewer asked why I was no longer in my current position. Informed interviewer of a mutual parting of ways due to work/life balance and no longer meeting my expectations. His response, “I have been in business over 35 years and never heard of a separation that was mutual.” Despite this honest answer, I received a rejection email the following week.
I thought the interview went great. Jeanette did a great job giving me the rundown of what Hibu was all about. I appreciated her questions, and she really wanted to hear from me and why I wanted to join the company.
Jeanett, the hiring manager, was professional. Hibu seems like a good place to work. I would like to pivot and gain more marketing experience. I may have a better opportunity after I complete some additional training.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself.
Why do you want to work here?
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Made it to round three. They already have five members in Washington. Keep in mind all leads are outbound meaning you eat what you kill. They are keen to coach you on your weaknesses and share more insight on their sale strategy. Overall, initial recruitment is kinda get you in the door. After that it’s really personality based.
I brought up the fact that minimum salary in WA is $77k+ and that the base salary of $51k was questionable. Basically, it’s not even paying bills and that was “off-putting” for the last round. Digital Marketing is a new field and their product line is sort of basic to say the least.
