Interview was conducted with who I would assumed would've been your boss if you land the position. From the very start, she seemed disinterested and unengaged, didn't even turn on her camera on a zoom call. She showed up on the introductory call, and another team member joined a couple minutes later. Didn't even introduce me to her, so I had to ask what the new joiner's role was and had to introduce myself to her, as we had already started the interview. Red flag that she either didn't respect her colleague enough to make her presence known on the call, or that she just doesn't know how to handle a phone call with multiple people present on it.
Interviewer was VERY unsociable and unfriendly - asked if I knew about Hipcamp, so told her about my history using it as well as family who have listed land on it just for her to move on and not even have a conversation with me. Why ask the question then? She then went ahead and clearly read aloud the company description from a prewritten prompt, and hardly defined the job. Overall she seemed ill equipped to handle an interview, let alone be productive on a team.
I won't get into all of the red flags, but she essentially put me on the spot when asking about my job (essentially questioned the validity of my employer, a well respected large tech company, when she clearly had zero knowledge of the industry), and was very short with me when answering any questions I had. Also asked the question below, which was an interesting thought experiment, but was baffled that I didn't understand it fully after just talking to her for 15 minutes. I remember clearly that I asked her what data they would have available to answer the question and she told me "everything", and then seemed annoyed that my answer wasn't exactly what she was looking for.
I've never felt more on the offensive than when I took this interview. And telling from other reviews here, people had similar experiences, and this role has been empty for a while. Perhaps it's because she wasn't impressed with me, but if that was the case, don't waste my time with the interview. Truthfully, even if I got a follow up, if this individual maintained the the same lack of professionalism and sociability with me in further rounds, I wouldn't have gone forward.
