      Academic Chair Interview

      Feb 7, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at HireEd Solutions

      Interview

The interview process started with receiving several emails about positions that I am over qualified for. I responded back with a copy of my updated resume and the fact that I am seeking a more progressive position. I am almost completed with my MBA degree. Promptly I received a email back about a academic chair position that I maybe a feasible applicant. The academic chair position would be a position that I would be interested in. With a few phone calls and emails back and forth, a interview was set up. The interview went well with the representative from HireEd and then I met with the Dean of Online Services. Overall I felt that the interview process went pretty well! I was told at that time to call the next day with the next steps. I called the next day and was advised that I would need to call the recruiter's cell phone on Monday (which was a holiday) to see if they had met with their accrediting factors to see if they would review my application and resume to see if I can be a potential candidate. I waited and then called Monday, no response, I left a voicemail. I waited until 9pm to send the email advising that I had called her cell phone. The next day I had tried her office phone number, no response, I left a voicemail. To this day (4 weeks later), I have not heard anything. I was led to believe through the enthusiasm that was displayed by the recruiter and the Dean was that I could be a candidate for the position. Personally if I could rate them worse than negative I would, HIGHLY unprofessional! As the position is progressive, I would believe even if I was not selected, at least acknowledgement of this would have been appreciated. The lack of communication shows the unprofessional nature of the company and what they represent. As far as what I can gather there is only one recruiter, who is extremely busy. However, how long does a phone call or email correspondence take? My advice to a prospect applicant, no matter what they say during the interview or tell you that you are a excellent candidate for the position, don't hold your breathe! Also tread lightly as I really believe that the school and HireEd maybe a scam!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The questions were pretty general and why I believe that I would be a great candidate for the position. I had more questions for them than they had for me.
