Interview

Came across this company which I interviewed a few years ago. I can't believe I never wrote a review. I have done a ton of interviews in my career and the person that did the telephone interview was completely unprofessional and rude. Interviewer was a female on a power trip and needed ego boost, seems she is gone - god bless the soul who has to work with her

Interview

A quick 30 minute call with a hiring manager which proceeded to an hour long pair coding session. This involved pairing on HTML and CSS issues. From there a 2 hour long "algo" and system design session with a quick character assessment at the tail end. The system design is a whiteboarding session that is conversational. The algo is not an algo at all but a stupid brain teaser that you will never encounter in your day to day activities. During the scheduling for this i was told it would involve general algorithm questions so I spent my time reviewing algorithms i use in coding. This was a waste of time - as it was a stupid question meant to see how you think. After spending over 4 hours of my time speaking with various members of the Vettery team, they didn't even have the courtesy to tell me i was denied. Utterly unprofessional.

Interview

I was using Vettery to find a new career opportunity. A recruiter reached out to me separately to inquire about my interest in a software engineering role with them, and after that conversation a remote tech screen was scheduled. Pretty standard. My interviewer for the screen showed no real interest in getting to know me, and instead launched immediately into a pop-quiz about my knowledge of some front-end related topics. Nothing too crazy, but I found it a bit odd. After that, we launched into an algorithm problem, which they advertised as being on the easy side but actually ended up being more of a leetcode-medium type of problem -- not the biggest deal. While I was walking through my thought process and solving the problem, my interviewer showed no interest in having a dialogue with me. They just sat there silently and watched me. In the end, I ended up getting most of the way to a working solution while missing a few edge cases, though I had to discover these on my own, as my interviewer was mostly silent. Finally, I was left about a grand total of 3 minutes to ask questions as the interviewer didn't stop me sooner and they had a hard cutoff. I'm pretty disappointed overall, as I think Vettery has a great product, but upon reading reviews about what it's like to work there, I'm not really surprised.

I applied through other source. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Hired in Jan 2020

Interview

Seems like this company is having serious issues. The VP of Marketing job posting has been up since February and to be honest it felt like they were constantly waiting for someone better to come along which could be why this position has been open for so long. They did not really communicate properly with me through the process and made me feel strung along with little to no feedback. I noticed there is a lot of turnover as well. May be a sign of a larger issue.

Interview Questions
  • They have a pretty lengthy case study you will be asked to do. Mostly covers your favorite tools, proposed marketing plans and past successes.
