I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Hollister Co. (Newark, CA) in Jan 2009
Interview
Good company to work for you can always bump your way up once you get your college degree. From a sales associate to MIT which is manager in training. Then they promote you to assistant manager that. After that if you do well they eventually hire you as a store manager. Good health benefits if your a manager. The pay is alright but its a great, fun environment. Its best to dress in attire that they wear for the interview. Know what the company is about and what diversity means.
A common question asked in group interview settings is, “What does diversity mean to you?” It's a foundational topic that allows candidates to express their understanding of inclusion, equity, and respect for different perspectives. This question often opens up dialogue around how individuals value unique backgrounds, experiences, and identities in the workplace. It's not just about race or gender—it encompasses cultural, generational, and even cognitive differences. Employers use this to gauge how someone might contribute to a supportive and collaborative environment where everyone feels seen and heard.
The interview was a group interview but it was very easy. Everyone answered the same questions. I applied and was offered an interview within the same week. They choose who they like. Not difficult just don't be weird. There lost their sheen recently though so you should be fine if you don't fit the mold. Is there not 30 words yet this is ridiculous I don't know if I can trust this site
