I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HomeStars (Toronto, ON) in Sep 2021
Interview
The interview began with the HR recruiter reaching out on LinkedIn inviting me to participate to the process. After the first call, I had a chat with the VP of engineer, which was pretty good and I was asked tech and behaviour questions.
Then I got an invitation to the next step, which would be the assessment which I could decide between a code in my github, a pair programming session or a take home code challenge. I choose the take home challenge.
The things started to get worst from this point, because I didn’t hear back from them. They didn’t give me a deadline to submit the code and they didn’t ask me about my progress, what showed a lack of interest.
I sent an email with the link for my github and the HR recruiter said that he would share with the other engineers. After this, I was ghosted. So I decided to ask for an update, which the recruiter answered with a generic email saying I didn’t qualify for the next step. I asked feedback about this decision and again got ghosted.
