I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Houston Marketing Worx (Houston, TX) in Feb 2013
Interview
After initially telling the HR girl that I was not interested due to several previous bad experiences, I reluctantly took the interview. Oddly, my first interview was with Paul Kluger the actual CEO of the company. He and Callie both assured me that this was not a position in sales and that I would be representing companies in a business to business environment. The interview took over an hour and and was only supposed to take 15-30 but he continued to talk about "transparency" and "schmoozing" he said that the company and what it expected of me would be very clear and transparent. My job would be to go business to business and hype up current contracts.
The next day Paul called me to see if I could come for a several hour observation "In the field," "with some clients." He passed me off to his fellow Syeed who was going to take me and another girl out in his car to see clients.
Before we could even take off he pulls out a list of AT&T contracts on a list with residential addresses and informs me we are going to go knocking door to door to regain lost contracts and to help current customers save money. Obviously I was completely livid and the girl and I both exited the vehicle to speak with Paul.
After 15 minutes of waiting, I went inside his office, explained how I felt lied to and how my time was completely wasted. He attempted of course to shift blame on me saying I wasn't paying attention. I told him I did not have time to listen to lies. I left mostly disgruntled because the day of my interview, he told me that he was an Eagle Scout like myself, and for the first time on my job search I thought I had finally found an honest trustworthy person.
So much for wishful thinking. If this is the way Paul and America want to run business then there should be no surprise to its citizens that its economy will go down the toilet.
Oh also, I mentioned the only other review on glassdoor (which was negative) to Paul and he said that person was lying and that he was currently trying to take him to small claims court. A word to the wise: He was Right!
