I applied through an online recruiter and received a phone call from the COO/Secretary approx. 5 minutes after sending in the app. I was told to come into the office for an interview the following day. I met with the president of the firm for the first interview. This interview consisted of the president going through my resume and getting a feel of what I have accomplished. I was then invited for a second interview, which was the next day. When I showed up for the second interview, I once again met with the President, who after 5 minutes of talking, sent me to go talk with an employee of the firm in a one on one setting. We ended up going to a local coffee shop for this meeting, and upon arriving, I saw many other interviewees at the shop doing the same thing as myself. I spoke with the the IMConsultants employee for roughly an hour, discussing salaries, what type of work is done, etc. This job is not exactly a pyramid scheme, but it does smell of it. There are two types of salaries, either 100% commission, or a base of $2,000+25% commission/month. If you are looking to work at the Haverford, PA "office," you will be working door-to-door while selling Verizon FIOS. The average hours are 8-8.5 hours (12pm-8:30pm). After discussing the day to day responsibilities with the current employee, I then went back to the office to meet with the president once more. I was offered a third interview but declined. This is a real company, but they prey on naive college grads who are looking to get a foot in the door in an extremely rough job market. I would advise any recent graduate to look for a company that can promote real growth. I do not believe that this is a company that can offer that, and therefore, would not recommend IMConsultants.
