    Interview

Met with bunch of people. Enjoyed the conversations. Not scripted. Not like I know anything, tho, so it was hard to answer without going back to something I've done. Seems like they work hard but have fun. They travel sometimes to meetings and do lots of trainings as a firm. Hard to tell what level people were, titles don't seem to match up to other places.

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Insight Strategy Advisors.

    Interview

The interview process took about a month. There were four rounds: a phone interview, a two-day slide assignment on selected topic, and two more 1-hour phone interviews including case. Supposedly if I pass the fourth round I would get an on-site interview. Many rounds before finding out not getting in the final. Overall seems like a great company for those who have life science consulting endeavors.

    Interview

Had a behavioral phone interview. Was asked to prepare a power point presentation on something from a list if topics. Point was to build a logical argument and display it clearly. Had a case interview on the phone. Had I moved on there would have been a case interview in NY

    Interview

To say the interview process isn't long and arduous would be untrue. However, through out the entire process there is a strong feeling that it is worth it in order to make sure the match between both yourself and the company is perfect. Everyone is extremely friendly and humble, but also some of the smartest people you will meet - so be prepared.

Personal experience of the actual process, in order, consisted of:

-An initial 30 minute phone interview
-A power point / critical thinking assessment
-A more in depth phone interview (1 hour)
-In person interview (they flew me in from out of state). Spoke with 7 individuals, spanning from analyst to CEO, in one hour chunks. The office project coordinator is the most helpful person in the world (though try to be more respectful of her time than I was), and was my main point of contact through out the process.

    Good luck!

    Interview Questions

    • Everyone will ask fit questions. They make it clear that this is most important.

Additionally, be prepared to answer questions specific to the industry / specific areas they work in - and show that you are enthusiastic about this sector as well.   Answer Question

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Insight Strategy Advisors (New York, NY) in October 2015.

    Interview

Submitted my cover letter/ resume/ supplement to my college's job board, then got word that I was accepted to a first round interview. It was primarily fit with a quick case that was very very casual. Interviewer was very nice and friendly. I enjoyed the conversation. Small firm environment seems great.

    Interview Questions

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Insight Strategy Advisors in March 2014.

    Interview

I applied through a college job posting in March 2014. The interview process consisted of 4 rounds: one 30 minute fit interview, one 60 minute fit + case interview, one 30 minute Skype fit interview with VP, followed by a day of in person interviewing in the NYC office where I met with 6 people (mainly fit with a few cases sprinkled in).

The process took 1 month to go from submission of my application to the in-person interview. The interviews were coordinated promptly and professionally, and the length of the process was mainly due to me having to schedule around final exams (thankfully everyone was more than understanding).

Throughout the interview process everyone I talked to was engaged and supportive. The phone and Skype interviews were conversational, and centered around my experiences and what led me to an interest in healthcare/life science consulting. The few cases that appeared in the round 2 and in-person interviews were not exceptionally challenging, but do require you to structure your answer and do some very basic calculations. All the cases were related to the healthcare industry in some way. When I came into the office, everyone was really friendly. I met with a range of people, including a partner at the firm. I understand that the round three Skype interview is not always part of the process, and mainly serves as a double check before flying a candidate into NYC.

Overall, the major emphasis was on fit. It was clear that they only want to hire people who will work well with everyone else and enjoy the work they are doing. I could tell from visiting the office that people got along really well with one another and everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy working at ISA.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Insight Strategy Advisors (New York, NY) in September 2017.

    Interview

The interview was over the phone and lasted about 30 minutes. It was 100% a fit interview- no case study questions were involved. We started with quick introductions, then went into the interview, and then there was time for questions about ISA at the end. The woman on the phone seemed a bit apathetic so I could never tell if she was into the conversation at all, and she rushed a bit through the ending questions as well.

I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Insight Strategy Advisors (New York, NY) in November 2018.

    Interview

I had 2 phone interviews and a slide deck assignment. The first interview was a fit interview and the last one was a fit + case interview. The slide deck assignment was done over 48 hours and asked me to do a backgrounder on a French biotech company. If anyone is interviewing for this firm, and make it to the slide deck assignment stage, I recommend that you use not only the target company's website but also find the fiscal year reports they might have available for shareholders to get more information even if it is in a language you can't understand. The company assigned to me was a French one so their report was in French but Google translate provided me with enough translation to glean more information about this company than I would have just by looking at their products listed on the company's website.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Insight Strategy Advisors in December 2018.

    Interview

Very long. First round short phone screen, second round slide assignment that you must complete within 48 hours, third round case over the phone, final round in the office . The final round consisted of 3 hour-long interviews, each with a behavioral portion at the beginning followed by a case, an hour long lunch with two analysts, and a 30 min presentation of the slide assignment from round 2. All in all, the process was relatively painless but absurdly long. It was also kind of confusing because ISA is currently being acquired by Precision Medicine Group so I had interviews with both groups. My actual in-person interview was at Precision but a person from ISA conducted one of the hour long interviews over the phone (even though his office was located within ~10 blocks of the Precision office and he commented over the phone "Oh I could have just come by in person!"). Overall, it didn't really seem like the two groups had integrated much at all; I asked people from both sides about this and it seemed kind of like a "tbd" in terms of when they would share office space/integrate. I heard back within 1-1.5 weeks between each step which was nice. I'm not really sure why I didn't get an offer; I reached out for feedback after my rejection twice but got no response which was a bit frustrating after the exceptionally long interview process.
