The interview process felt very disorganized and drawn out, lasting over four months for what was supposed to be a senior-level individual contributor role in the IT Department.
The process started smoothly with an initial meeting with the lead recruiter and then the hiring manager. However, after the second interview, things became confusing. I was initially told my next meeting would be with the CIO, but then the recruiter scheduled another “check-in” interview with the hiring manager. During that meeting, I was told I would meet with a second IT Director, but instead, I was suddenly scheduled for the CIO interview.
After meeting with the CIO, the recruiter told me the process was wrapping up and that I would hear back in about a week. It has now been over five weeks with no communication, despite me following up.
I understand that not every candidate is selected, but a lack of follow-up—especially after such a lengthy process—reflects poorly on the company’s professionalism and respect for candidates’ time.
