A friend who works at the college set me up with the head of the department in which I wanted to teach: I sent my resume and was called in for an interview the following week. After a one-hour discussion with the department head I was put on the list of potential adjunct faculty.

The most difficult question was regarding my teaching style. Although I am a subject expert and had done many one-off lectures, I had limited regular teaching experience, so I had not yet developed a "style".
