I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at JET Program (New York, NY) in Dec 2014
Interview
I've interviewed with JET twice and have been offered a spot both times. Really lovely interviewers, looking to encourage and really on your side. Try and bring your enthusiasm to the fore, they will respond to it.
Same old hand full of interviewers to ask you questions via Zoom. If you're for CIR having N2 or N1 Japanese, then there would be a Japanese interview part, with also reading a Japanese passage out loud and answering questions accordingly.

Question 1
If you were to encounter racism in the workplace at Japan, what would you do?
It was professional, simple, and what I expected. I took the time to research what sorts of questions I might be asked and prepared for them accordingly. They also asked about things from my SOP which might be consider a little difficult to think of quickly but if you wrote your SOP with passion and knew what you were trying to say, it is not difficult.
