Question 1
What are the benefits for which it is worthwhile to implement automatic container scanning for known vulnerabilities in the platform?
Started in a very fair and decent way. However, in the management interview the interviewer seemed bored and that they had already made a decision beforehand. I felt like I was not getting a fair chance.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JFrog (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in May 2024
Interview
The process included an HR interview, a Recruiting manager interview, and a home assignment.
The experience with HR was bad. At some point I asked a question, she didn't know the answer and promised someone would call me back, but no one ever did. A week after that an interview was scheduled and after a few days canceled without anyone contacting me in person by phone or text. In the end of the process, no one bothered to send me even a polite "thank you for your time" email, or any other message, even though it was a long process. I only got a one line text message from the hiring manager. The HR team totally dissapeared. I talked with 2 different HR rep and both were not professional. Seems that JFrog considers recruitment as an HR entry-level position and not a profession by itself. They should understand that there are real people on the other side who should be treated with respect and care.
The home assignment was professional and reasonable. The main problem was that it was on JFrog product. They do formally declare that they will not use any of the work the candidate is doing, but this is impossible. When you talk with a panel, and present 10 ideas, at least 1 or 2 will probably sound cool to someone, and then a week later no one remembers where he heard them and will use them. The solution, as done in other places, is either to use a similar use case from a different product or pay the candidate for his time.
