Interview
Positive interview. General questions that you would expect such as; why would you like to work at JC, do you know about our culture or know anyone else that works here, why have you applied to this role. Had to complete a knowledge test after the interview which was straight forward enough if you have experience working in accounts/tax.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Johnston Carmichael (Newcastle upon Tyne, England) in Nov 2025
Interview
First Stage - on call interview - questions such as why JC, why audit, how would you convey your audit findings to a client.
Second Stage - assessment centre - group work, in person interview asked a range of scenario questions e.g. worked well in a team, a time you analysed, a time you took charge of a situation, a time you showed entrepreneurship. Also a sole analysis of a company where you highlighted errors and how you would change them and presented this to interviewers.

I applied online. I interviewed at Johnston Carmichael (Newcastle upon Tyne, England)
Interview
I submitted the application online and got an interview email a few days later. The first round was mainly a vibe check ,basic behavioural questions and “tell me about yourself” stuff. The HR seemed chill but was short on time since she arrived late. After that, I got an email inviting me to the Assessment Centre. It’s a standard AC, and they emphasise using the STAR method (which you should be doing anyway).
