I applied online for the role of Data Scientist. It was a very quick and easy process to do. I shortly after received an invitation for a phone interview, in which I scheduled one. However, on the day, I did not receive a phone call, although I waited by for over 2 hours. I ended up sending an email, with the recruiter stating that he was not in the office and therefore could not contact me. Could he not have let me know beforehand so I didn't have to wait. I asked to reschedule the phone interview and he said he would email me the next following week with times that he would be available to answer. One week passed, and no email received. I had to send two more emails before he finally replied with a suitable time for us both. I completed the phone interview and did not go any further but this whole process was infuriating due to lack of communication on his end. I was constantly emailing, constantly pestering to get him to actually interview me. It was annoying due to other planned interviews I had going on and he did not stick to what was planned.

Interview
I applied for the Data Science and Analytics tract. There were five rounds in total: 1) sending in my CV and supporting documents 2) self-directed video interview and logical puzzles; they send you a link to a video platform where you can record yourself answering questions they ask; the logical puzzles were things like remembering numbers but in a very gamified way 3) interview with HR; standard questions about what I'm expecting from the role and also salary etc details 4) assessment day in person (travel is NOT compensated!); first a single-person coding assignment in python, then a group exercise about pricing that needs to be presented right after 5) interview with team lead which is mostly a personality fit check at this point; be prepared to also just talk about hobbies and interests as well as education and background The entire thing took around 4 months.

Interview
The process consisted of:
- Recorded video interview answers & phone interview
Relatively open-ended and straightforward/standard questions, centering around motivation, programming experience and exposure to data science projects. It felt very relaxed, which encouraged being natural and conversational.
- Assessment centre
This was a well-organised half-day consisting of:
Delivering a pre-prepared presentation & presenting an ML task to their data science team - where they were interested in both technical and implementational aspects, so it was beneficial to have come in with a wide understanding of both topics.
Group task, interviews and opportunities to chat (& play pool) with the team - a rather core part for them to learn whether you'd fit in and what your motivations are, they're a very friendly and fun team which made this comfortable.
For the assessment centre, a member of graduate recruitment is there to ensure things are running smoothly, they gave good advice and kept me at ease!
