I applied through college or university. I interviewed at KBRA in Nov 2025
Interview
Very behavioral, looking more for culture fit. Ask lots of questions. They want someone who is willing to learn. Be very personable and friendly. Show that you not only have a strong interest in commercial real estate but an understanding of the importance of CMBS ratings.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at KBRA (Dresher, PA) in Jan 2025
Interview
First round with HR. I had second round with 2 members of the team- Sr Managing Director and Associate Director. There was no mention of next steps for about 2 weeks. I received an offer from another firm by that time and let them know that. They scheduled my final round on an urgent basis, and the HR even helped me over weekend to book flight.Post that round I was called to their office(on my own expense). I had interview rounds with 5-6 members of the team who just had a conversation with me, which could have been had via zoom as well. I was asked to perform SQL and Excel test, even though it wasn’t really a data analyst role.
I had no where written in my resume that I was proficient in SQL yet pretty difficult SQL coding questions were asked. I got rejection call from HR next day.
My humble request is don’t ask data analyst level questions to a finance graduate student, only to call them in person at their own expense just to reject them.
