Applied thru and nd LinkedIn and a talent recruiter reached out to find out about my experience and skills. I later got to zoom and got interviewed by the campaign and creative executive to who the position would report to. Simple questions about my experience and more information about the role. She was cool and informative. A couple of days later the recruiter contacted me about setting more zoom meetings with the team. Over 2 days I had to get interviewed by a brand marketer, geo expansion manager, marketing communications manager, and the jr graphic designer. The role required you to mentor the jr graphic designer and show her the ropes when it came to printing packaging. The interviews were a bit exhausting since I had to repeat myself 4 times and had to miss work to be available. After, the recruiter emailed me to let me know that they wanted me to do a test to see my photoshop skills. Mainly changing the packaging on 2 products and editing some products out of the image. They gave me a week, but I finished it in one night. They did give me 2 gift cards to door dash for doing it. I hate when companies do tests. Someone with 7 years of experience and a great portfolio and I still needed to prove myself. If anything it should have been given at the beginning of the interview process. I was told I would know early the following week. But never heard if I would get the position. I waited the week and finally reached out by email and was told they decided to move with another candidate. It’s disappointing since it seems like I had the role after. meeting the team and nailing the test.
