      Designer Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Kaleidoscope (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2023

      Interview

Incredibly unorganized. After applying online, they called me in for an in person interview. It went really well. I interviewed with both the creative director and senior creative director. They seemed to really like my work and said I would be a really great fit. They contacted me a few days later to set up an interview with their Chief Creative Officer. We had to reschedule the day of due to his schedule. It's fine. Things happen. A week passes by and they email me and ask me if I'd be fine with a phone interview with him as my final interview. I of course accept as we both know I'm a good fit and I'm excited about the idea of working for the company and just want to keep this process moving forward. After 2 weeks of him rescheduling the call, we finally get to talk on the phone for my final interview. It went really well and he basically offered me the job and was going to tell the recruiting team to email me . I tell all my friends and family that I'm about to get my first full time job. Little did I know that this was the last time I would ever be hearing from Kaleidoscope. I spent a whole month waiting around for this offer letter and emailed them twice a week. This company just strung me along, giving me hope during a stressful year, and ultimately wasted my time and theirs. Looking back, this was a blessing in disguise because I am now happy and working with a company that actually cares about people.

      Easy interview

      Application

I interviewed at Kaleidoscope (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

First initial interview was great. The person interviewing said they really liked my work and that I was essentially hired but had to wait until the Creative Director was in town. I waited for 2 weeks and they finally scheduled the interview. The day before, they asked if I would be open to a phone interview because he had to travel out of town again. I was fine with this and then he called me to apologize because he had to cancel. Weeks went by and I didn't hear anything back and have yet to hear anything from their team after constant follow up emails. Absolutely cruel to string someone along in need of a job like this. I have to advise anyone to stay away from such a heartless company.

      Question 1

It was basically showing my portfolio and talking about my experience. The interviewer also explained the work they do.
