I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kineo.ai in Dec 2021
Interview
They first answer me back first time after 7 days. Then the process is like this.
Get to know - 45 Minutes - Let's get to know each other. What skills do you bring, what skills do you want to learn? What drives you and what do you expect?
Workshop - 90 - 120 Minutes - Let's dive into tech together. We will solve a real life problem to understand how you think. This is your opportunity to learn more about how we work together as well.
Meet the team - 60 Minutes - Tech is only part of the equation, equally important - in particular in an early stage Startup - is team fit. Here we will organize a remote lunch.
I only did the get to know and didn't passed that. We then organized a call and he told me it was not my skills or personality but some external factors i can't change.
Anyway the guy was super nice we talked about personal stuff and it was not really technical. They pointed out they are bootstrapped, they have no investor, so they are growing slower than other startups. Their value is more making costumer specific solution.
I applied online. I interviewed at Kineo.ai (Berlin) in Jan 2022
Interview
The interview process was super pleasant. From the first meeting I got a good impression of Kineo's values. What really got me interested was their transparency in their compensation across the whole organisation.
The technical interview was interesting and it reflects very well the projects they do.

Interview
Great hiring process -- very transparent, well-organised, and fair. The Kineo team invests a lot of time in the interviewing process and focuses on getting to know the applicants and the way they work.
Stage 1: 30 min get-to know interview with 2 team members. Mainly about the company, the role, and your background. Loads of time for you to ask questions. They will also explain their transparent salary scheme.
Stage 2: 2 h workshop with 2 team members. You will get the task a week prior to the workshop -- it is up to you if and how much you prepare for the task in advance. You work on the problem with one team member in a pair-programming session, the other will be there to observe.
Stage 3: 1h Meet the Team. A lunch break to get to know the entire Kineo team.
I accepted another offer in the end, but the entire experience was exclusively positive. I find their way to evaluate technical skills extremely fair and fun. In fact, Kineo.ai is the only Berlin-based AI Startup I applied to that does *not* use the hiring process to make applicants solve their problems or asks applicants to perform random (timed) coding tasks.

Question 1
The subject of my workshop was a recommender system, questions were centred around that.
