The CTO reached out to via email and suggested that I set up an introductory call via Whereby. When I get on the call, I seem to be talking to a person with their camera off, who is possibly reading from a script as it was very well-formed. I proceed to ask the person about my concerns and they told me that they are a Freelance consultant that the company hired to gather more information and see if the candidates are a right fit. I was absolutely shocked! Honestly, as a 15 person company, if you can't make time to have an intro call with a candidate, it reflects pretty poorly on the company culture.
